The Google Nexus 5 wowed the world as it arrived with some insane specs but it does not cut a hole in consumer’s pockets. Developed by LG, the Nexus 5 is definitely a revolutionary device. Then again, is it better than the newer Samsung Galaxy S5?
Costing at only $349, the Nexus 5 is definitely more desirable when compared to the $649 Samsung Galaxy S5. The smartphone comes with a 4.95” display that offers 445ppi. This is also sharper than the S5’s 5.1” screen that only promotes 432ppi.
Then again, the S5 can last longer than the Nexus 5 as it comes with a larger 2,800mAh battery. The latter only has 2,300mAh battery to offer.
In terms of performance, the S5 is also faster as it runs on the newer 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The Nexus 5 is powered by a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 330GPU.
Even on cameras, the S5’s 16MP rear and 2.1MP front shooter are sweeter than the 8MP rear and 1.3MP front snappers on the Nexus 5. The former is able to record videos at 4K resolution while the latter can only manage 1080p.
The killer blow is with the S5’s tons of features and also support for microSD of up to 128GB. The Nexus 5 does not have much to offer and it comes with a fix 16GB internal storage.
There is no denying that the LG Nexus 5 is a great device nevertheless but it is the Samsung Galaxy S5 that offers the ultimate smartphone experience right now. Then again, price will be a factor to consider for those that wishes to buy the best.
