It is no secret that the highly successful Google Nexus 5 is based on the LG G2.
Despite bearing a different look, both devices are nearly identical to each other. However, not everyone is aware on the differences between the two.
Compared to the G2, the Nexus 5 is more compact despite featuring a 4.95” display that offers 1920x1080p resolution. The screen is also equipped with the True HD IPS+ which produces crisp image. The G2 fell short on PPI as it boast a larger 5.2” display.
Under the hood, the Nexus 5 runs on the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 with 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. This is relatively identical to the LG G2.
Also, there is a plain 8MP rear camera fitted at the back of the device. Unlike the LG G2, the rear shooter is somewhat basic and lacks all the features for the Nexus 5. The G2 has all the features complimenting its cameras.
Finally is the battery. The Nexus 5 is able to offer 300hours of standby time with its 2300mAh power pack. This is really poor considering that the G2 has 3000mAh to offer. This translates to 900hours of standby time.
The major lacking on the LG G2 is that it runs on the Android 4.2.2 Jellybean OS. The Google Nexus 5 comes with the latest Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Of course, this latest Android firmware will be coming to the G2 in the near future.
