It is confirmed. The Android 5.0 L will be the direct replacement for the highly successful Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Like how it was with every new Android OS, the 5.0 L is expected to arrive on the Nexus devices first before reaching other platforms.
Obviously, the Nexus 5 will be leading the pack. The doubts are with the much older Nexus 4 as many are tipping that the device won’t get updated to the Android L. Well, this won’t be the case at all.
If you’ve been following the Google Conference closely, you should be able to see that the Nexus 4 is in line to get the update as well. The first thing is with the Android L symbol. They actually came in multiple shapes and designs. It appears that each design is for a specific Nexus Model and this image proof that the Nexus 4 will, in fact, get the Android L.
In this other image, the screenshot shows that same L logo at the top left of it. Also, you should be able to notice the resolution is about 1280x768p. This is obviously that of the Nexus 4. To be more certain, viewers can check out the background of the screenshot and compare it with this wallpaper. They are both identical and are actually an exclusive theme designed for the Nexus 4.
These are all the evidence needed to confirm that the Google Nexus 4, will get the Android 5.0 L update. Of course, there is no telling when that will happen.
