LG G4 users are still waiting for LG to release the Android 7.1 Nougat update. Most people believe that the update is not that far away but if you can’t wait, you can actually get the Nougat update for the LG G4 now.
CyanagenMod has just released the new Nightly ROM which will allow some devices to run on the Android 7.1 Nougat. The ROM will work for a few devices including the LG G4. If you are interested, here is how you can update the device on your own.
Before you start, you will have to make sure that the device has at leat 70% of power. You will also need to backup all important data and enable USB debugging. The LG G4 will also have to be rooted, unlocked and installed with tools like CWM or TWRP.
Download the CM 14.1 Android 7.1 for LG G4 here. Next, connect the G4 to your PC and copy the files to your SD Card. Disconnect the device, turn it off and enter recovery mode.
Now, clear wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and wipe Dalvik cache. next Select install Zip from SDCard> choose zip from SDCard, find the file and flash it. Do the same for the GApps package as well.
Once the device is done rebooting itself, your LG G4 should be running on the new Android 7.1 Nougat.
