Just yesterday, LG made an announcement to confirm that the G4’s release date has been delayed. While no specific debut period was mentioned, LG simply said that the G4’s delay is so that it can ‘make a bigger splash’.
It is not a coincidence that LG used the word splash and such a statement has many meaning to it. For starters, LG is basically hinting that the G4 is going to be both water and dust resistant. Most flagship smartphones today see this feature as a standard and now; LG wishes to adopt it.
On the other hand, the term splash could simply be a figurative speech that is suggesting the G4 to come with more features. If so, then LG fans will welcome this delay any day.
Then again, the final possibility is that LG has a secret fetish for water. It was very recently when two LG execs were penalized for vandalizing Samsung washing machines for some unknown reasons.
