Prior to the arrival of the LG G3, many thought that the LG G Pro 2 was the company’s flagship smartphone for this year. Well, apparently many are wrong but that does not mean that the G Pro 2 is a bad device at all. Today, we shall see how big the gap between the Pro 2 and the G3 is.
In terms of display, the G3 comes with a 5.5” screen that offers an amazing 538ppi. The G Pro 2, on the other hand, has a larger 5.9” screen but its pixel density is limited to 373ppi. Furthermore, the larger screen also means that the G Pro 2’s 3,200mAh battery drains faster than the G3’s 3,000mAh battery.
Also, the G3 is slightly faster than the G Pro 2 as it runs on the newer Snapdragon 801 processor, clocked at 2.5GHz, while being paired to 3GB of RAM and Adreno 330 GPU. The G Pro 2 is not far off though as it comes with a 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with the same 3GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
Even on cameras, both devices are akin to each other as they both come with the same 13MP rear and 2.1MP front shooters. However, the G3 stays ahead of its sibling as it is capable of recording videos at 4K resolution. The G Pro 2 can only manage 1080p video recording.
Once again, the differences between the LG G3 and the LG G Pro 2 are very little to speak of. The former can be described as an improved version of the latter since it has some newer hardwares.
