The LG G2 might be an old device but it is still one of the most used smartphones today. As such, LG has given the G2 the highly anticipated Android 5.0 Lollipop but the OS came out with only problems to offer.
Today, we are going to share a Lollipop build that is stable to run on the G2. The OS can be found in a custom ROM developed by XDA’s Rashed97 and it is free of issues. However, the custom ROM can only work on the G2 D800, D801, D802, LS980 and VS980 to apply the custom ROM developed by Rashed97.
So if you are among the G2 users that wish to get a stable build of the Lollipop, you are encouraged to apply the custom ROM. All you have to do is head to XDA and download the necessary files before following the installation procedures below.
Pre-requisite
1. Make sure a backup is created and the device is already rooted with CWM. We recommend doing so with NANDROID.
2. A minimum of 50% battery life to ensure no disruption when installation is taking place.
3. CM12 ROM ZIP downloaded for the G2.
4. Google Apps Package downloaded.
Flashing Instruction
1. Transfer both the Custom ROM and Google Apps Package to your G2.
2. Boot device into recovery mode and wipe cache, data and system partition.
3. Flash the CM12 ROM.
4. Then, Flash the Google Apps Package.
5. The G2 should reboot and it will run on the Lollipop OS.
