The LG G5 was the first to come in with the modules but they were not alone for long as Lenovo followed that up with the release of the Lenovo Moto Z. So which of these two modular phones do you think should be the winner?
Let’s start with the hardware. The LG G5 will be coming in with a 5.3-inch display screen with 1440 x 2560 resolution and 554ppi. The device will be running on a Snapdragon 820 with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device will be fitted with a 16MP + 8MP rear camera with 4K video support. An 8MP camera will be fitted in the front. It will be powered by a 2800mAh battery.
The Lenovo Moto Z, on the other hand, will come in with a 5.5inch display screen with 2560 x 1440 resolution and 535ppi. The device will be running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 with 4GB RAM as well. Customers will get to choose from two internal storage options, 32GB or 64GB. The Moto Z will be coming with a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera and will be powered by a 2600mAh battery pack.
Based on the hardware, it does feel like the only advantage the Moto Z has is the slightly larger display. However, hardware alone is not going to be enough. The Lenovo Moto Z could easily make up for it all with its new exterior design. Not only does it look better but it is thinner as well.
Then there are the mods. All LG talked about was the mods but so far, we have only a few in the market. Lenovo, on the other hand, released a bunch of mods alongside the device. We also prefer the magnetic design on the Moto Z compared to the LG G5.
