Kingdom Hearts 3: A Voiceless Villain?

Rest in peace Leonard Nimoy. The legendary actor passed away earlier this week and while it saddens the entire world, it is Kingdom Hearts’ fans that is most affected by it. This is because the late Leonard is the voice behind the English version of Master Xehanort in the gaming series.

With Square Enix producing Kingdom Hearts 3 right now, it is unsure on whether Nimoy managed to complete his last act as Xehanort or not. Square Enix has yet to shed any light on the matter and it leaves the fans clueless and worried for Kingdom Hearts 3.

If the voice has already been recorded, then it is a relief. If not, then it is clearly a problem for the already delayed Kingdom Hearts 3.

While this may sound ridiculous, some fans are calling for Corey Burton to proceed with the recording for Xehanort. After all, the lad is really talented at impersonating another person and he will make a fine relief actor for Nimoy.

On the other hand, there is also a possibility for Xehanort to get muted. Square Enix might pull off a plotline that saw the villain’s vocal cord destroyed in a fierce battle, thus, preventing the villain to speak.

The final possibility is with machines replicating Nimoy’s voice. Square Enix could use this high-end sound producing technology to change the voice of a new actor so that it sounds exactly like Nimoy.

Of course, there is no telling for sure on how Kingdom Hearts will turn out to be but fans trust Square Enix will pull the right strings to get the job done. Then again, the Kingdom Hearts series will never be the same again without Leonard Nimoy.
