The Ferrari is one of the most prestigious carmaker in the history of cars and it is one name which the rich echelon can trust when seeking a high-quality luxurious super sports car. However, things turned sour last week when Ferrari was forced to recall 3,400 F458 vehicles after discovering an issue with the vehicle.
It appears that the problem is with the car boot, or in the 458’s case the hood, can’t be opened from the inside of the vehicle. What is more bizarre is that National Highway Traffic Safety Administration quoted the issue as follow:
“In the event an individual is trapped in the trunk and the latch system does not release the trunk lid, it increases the risk of personal injury or possibly death.”
While there may be no wrong with NHTSA’s statement, the idea of seeing someone getting trapped inside’s the 458’s cargo space can only be in a kidnapping case. There is no way someone would voluntarily get locked inside the compartment.
