Jeep Grand Cherokee & Compass Both Catching Fire For Different Reasons

Jeep had to issue to recalls to recall back some of their Jeep and Dodge models and this time, both the recalls were issued due to fire hazard risk.

The first recall will be for the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the Dodge Durango. A total of 570,000 will be affected with 352,831 units being from the US. Affected models will be models that were made before the 12th of September 2012.

According to Jeep, the wiring on the vanity mirror might short circuit which could lead to a fire. Those recalled will be getting a new adhesive for the wires.

The second recall will affect the 2015 Jeep Compass and Patriot. A total of 60,107 units in the US will be recalled. In this recall, Jeep reported that the power steering fluid line clamp might have been position incorrectly which could lead to fluid leakage which will, in turn, increase the risk of a fire. The recall will also affect models from Mexico, Canada and more.
