Is The End Of The Subaru BRZ Happening Too Soon?

It appears that the Subaru BRZ journey may be about to come to an end. The partnership between Fuji Heavy Industries, who own Subaru, and Toyota has hit hard times so the latest model which was first seen in 2013 may now be killed off.

It seems that the partnership went bad due to Subaru not being keen to have the models move on to newer ones. Toyota appear to have been happy to go ahead with the GT86, however Subaru did not feel the same way.

Drive’s recent report appears to inform us that Toyota is going to be leaving Subaru. If this is the case then it will most likely be that the BRZ suffers the most from it and is killed off.

This all came about after the Toyota Chief engineer, Tetsuya Tasa stated that the next 86 may be a BMW-Toyota model. Despite this obviously not being great as far as the BRZ is concerned, the news will work in the favour of GT86 and FR-S as BMW are more skilled in details and finish than what Subaru is capable of.

Tada also stated that the 86 could include a smaller engine together with turbocharger, considering that this appears to be a favourable option at the moment.

After all, it apears that Toyota may have made a wise devison going their seperate ways with Subaru to for a relationship with BMW instead.
