Apple created a huge unrest on the jailbreak community after the Cupertino-based company launched the iOS 7.1.2 some months ago. Up until today, there has yet to be a jailbreak for this latest iOS.
This is a huge bummer for those that have applied the firmware update as they will have to wait for a long period of time before the next jailbreak is ready. Then again, there is another way around the iOS 7.1.2 and it is through downgrading it to the old iOS 7.0.4.
One of our readers shared with us that he managed to do just that. The lad revealed that he uses a 64GB iPhone 5S from Verizon, a computer that runs on the OSX 10.9.2 and also, iTunes 11.2.2(3).
The process is rather a simple one. The first step is to connect the iPhone to the PC and launch iTunes. Once done, the latter will highlight the connected iPhone together with its details. On its description, iTunes revealed that the plugged-in device is running on the latest iOS. At that same area, there is an option on restoring the iOS from the previous backup.
Click on that particular option and a list of previous iOS backup should populate the screen. There, iPhone users should be able to spot the iOS 7.0.4. Click on it and commence the restoration. Upon completion, the iPhone should be running on the iOS 7.0.4, although some files and folders might be distorted as a result of the restoration.
To cure this problem, users can download the iPhone Backup Extractor app and get the files and folders sorted out. Also, users will have to perform the jailbreak all over again.
