Up until today, there is still no news on when the iOS 7 jailbreak would be released. Since the iOS 7 was released, Apple had stopped digitally signing for the iOS 6 and older. This means that it is no longer possible to downgrade to iOS 6. If you are an iPhone 4 owners, being stuck on the iOS 7 would be a nightmare given all the issues the iOS 7 had caused to the iPhone 4. However, thanks to iFaith, iPhone 4 owners have the opportunity to revert back to iOS 6 on conditions, your iPhone is an iPhone 4, you have a PC and you saved your SHSH blobs from your previous iOS.
If you met all 3 requirements, all you have to do now is download iFaith from GitHub and unzip it. Make sure the iTunes installed on your PC is iTunes 11.0.5 or older. If you have iTunes 11.1 and above, you need to completely uninstall it and download an older one. You can download the it from Old Apps. To start the downgrade, follow the steps onlined below.
1. Connect your iPhone 4 to your PC via USB cable
2. Locate your SHSH Blobs. If you don’t know where you saved it, use iFaith to locate it. Launch the iFaith application, click OK, and select Show Available SHSH Cache on Server. The confirm it by clicking yes and choose Show list of available SHSH blobs on TSS server(s). A list would appear and select the one you want. Close the iFaith.
3. Relaunch iFaith, select Build *signed* IPSW w/ blobs then Browse for SHSH blobs and select the one you saved earlier.
4. Then you would need the iOS 6 firmware. Choose download it for me.
5. Once the download completes, choose Build ISPW. Remember the ISPW name created and wait until it finishes. This would take a long time.
6. Once done, clock OK to continue and put your iPhone 4 into DFU mode by pressing Sleep/Wake button and slide to power off.
7. Click Start on iFaith and follow the onscreen instructions to press and hold the Sleep/Wake key and the Home key for 10 seconds, then release the Sleep/Wake key and keep holding the Home key for 30 seconds. The iFaith will promt you that your iPhone is in DFU mode. Exit the iFaith.
8. Fire up your iTunes. The iTunes should detect your iPhone 4 in recovery mode now. Click OK.
9. Hold down the Shift key and click the Restore iPhone … button in the Summary pane then browse to the IPSW file you created with iFaith and select it. This process will take a while. Just leave it until it is done.
After it is done, follow the on screen instruction to finalize the installation and your iPhone 4 now would be downgraded to iOS 6. You can now reinstall your jailbreak.
