Downgrading an iOS seems like an impossible task in the past but now, there appears to be a way to go back from iOS 7.1.2 to the iOS 7.0.4. One of our readers shared with us on how he managed to do so and the details are as follow.
Before we go to the method, it is important to note that the process was done on a 64GB iPhone 5S from Verizon through iTunes 11.2.2(3) and OSX 10.9.2. This is due to the unknown results when performing the downgrade with anything different from the above.
Once the iPhone 5S is plugged in to the Mac, iTunes will automatically pop out to reveal it. It will also say that the iPhone 5S is running on the latest firmware. Another text comes with a command to restore from a backup. Clicking on it will list out all the available backup with the iOS 7.0.4 being at the top of the list.
Confirming the restore backup will revert the iPhone 5S to the iOS 7.0.4. On the down side however, it seems that all the files are misplaced and it left a huge mess in the iPhone 5S. If this happens, try installing iPhone Backup Extractor to sort everything back to normal.
