Anyone looking for a phablet may be considering two of the best on the market at the moment, the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Apples latest release takes on the king of phablets Samsung and both handsets pack a punch. But which, if any, can knock out the other?
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is the latest in the Note range and it is one of the best phablets you can buy as it comes with the S-Pen. However Apple have pushed their nose into the phablet market by way of the Apple iPhone 6 Plus and it has been a winner for those who like a big handset.
The iPhone 6 Plus is 7.1 mm in thickness and is designed in aluminium and offered in light grey, dark grey or gold. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is offers plastic and a metal edge and is 8.5mm in thickness and is available in gold, white, blue and black. This is the first time that Samsung have included metal in the design and it does give the handset a look that is much sleeker.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 feels good in the hand but the iPhone 6 Plus offers a design that is sleeker and it is the slimmer of the two device. The iPhone is more comfortable in the hand. However the Note 4 does have the removable back to swap out the battery while the iPhone doesn’t. One big difference is that the Note 4 supports SD card and the iPhone doesn’t.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 offers the S Pen and this is superb and makes taking notes very easy. The stylus is pressure sensitive and this makes it stand out among other tablets on the market.
The display of the iPhone 6 Plus is 5.5 inches and it offers 1920 x 1080 display covered with glass that is resistant to scratches. The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a display of 5.7 inches and this is Super AMOLED with 2560 x 1440 resolution and this is also scratch resistant.
Both the iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 offer Bluetooth 4.0 support along with NFC and 4G. the iPhone 6 Plus runs on the 64 bit A8 dual core 1.4GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 runs on the 32bit 2.7GHz quad core Snapdraon 805 with 3GB of RAM.
The iPhone 6 Plus and the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 are great handsets for everyday use and the Note is superb when it comes to multi-tasking. The iPhone 6 Plus stands out when it comes down to playing games.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 runs on KitKat 4.4 with the TouchWiz interface on top and the Apple iPhone 6 Plus has iOS 8.3.
The camera of the iPhone 6 plus is 8MP and it comes with 1080p HD recording, OIS, TrueTone flash and phase detection. The camera on the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is 16MP and this too comes with OIS and video recording is 4K.
