While nothing has been announced by the Cupertino tech giant, insiders have spotted the sapphire glass screens arriving in China. It is expected to be the first batch of sapphire displays from the 2,200kg of sapphire ingots being produced by GT for Apple.
It is believed that the month of May will be the month where the display screens are to be completed. This is to avoid any shortages of supply when the time of release arrives.
As for the iPhone 6’s production road map, it seems that Apple will be producing the smaller glass display first before starting on the heavily rumoured, 5.5inch iPhone 6. Both Sharp and LG will be at the helm of producing the display that features in-cell touch technology with capacitive matrix fused into it.
The iPhone 6 will be assembled in China just like all the other products from Apple. Once completed, the consumers are anticipating it to run on the iOS 8 and powered by a new 64-bit A8 processor.
While the release is still unknown, consumers can expect to hear more during WWDC happening early next month.
