It was only recently when the Galaxy S5 got unveiled and it sure does carry a lot of potential with it. Despite not being released yet, the world already got a rough idea of how it is going to be. Question now is, how will the iPhone 5S fare against this high and mighty device. Recombu placed both device in a deathmatch and the outcome is as follow.
In terms of design, it is a mismatch. Samsung simply has no idea on how to make the S5 look good and feel good. The iPhone 5S has that metal finish and premium feel which makes it the clear winner on this one.
When it comes to display, both the S5 and the 5S are repeating the hardwares found on their respective predecessors. However, the S5 has an advantage since its colours are much better integrated and the brightness is precise to produce a superb display quality.
As for the OS, this is down to the users preferences. The iOS is much neater, smooth, eye-catching and simple compared to the Android. However, Samsung’s latest TouchWiz manage to replicate the same feats but it still can get confusing at times. The plus side is that Android allows more personalization of the device.
Then, there is the performance. The Galaxy S5 is running on the latest quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor which is far more superior to the A7 dual-core 64-bit chip on the 5S. Samsung definitely overpowered this round.
Finally is the camera. The iPhone 5S is equipped with an 8MP rear camera that has the ability to automate everything. It even comes with dual flash for lowlight environments. The S5 on the other hand has a whopping 16MP camera with HDR that is capable of recording film in 4K. That translates to 4 times the level of HD. Of course, it is still not tested yet but on papers, Samsung takes the round.
All in all, both gadgets have their own pros and cons. The S5 certainly has an advantage over the 5S since it is much newer and packed with all the latest gizmos. It might sound like a mismatch. If so, then we just have to wait a little bit longer until the iPhone 6 is out.
