On the other hand, HTC already sent out the brand new One M8 to compete with the S5. As such, we have done a comparison on key areas between the two devices. Heck, we even added in the iPhone 5s to prove a point.
In terms of design, the One M8 is like the modern day Cleopatra for a smartphone. It is built with aluminium finish and it looks so beautiful. Second best is the iPhone 5s which looks like a typical iPhone that makes it appealing. There is no contest for the S5 as both rivals are on a league above it.
As for functionality, the Samsung Galaxy S5 is on equal footing with the HTC One M8. The former is able to offer a large keyboard with features like swiping. On top of that, the keyboard differentiates itself when operated on Facebook and text message. The latter has an adequate keyboard but more importantly, it has the Sense 6.0. This allows its users to tweak the UI to their liking.
Then there is the iPhone 5s which has a traditional keyboard that lacks functionality and an untweakable UI.
The next segment involves the camera. Samsung took a leap by giving the Galaxy S5 a whopping 16MP rear camera packed with great features which includes HDR, fastest auto-focus around and Shot & More mode.
The iPhone 5s on the other hand has an 8MP shooter which is well-known for taking double shots and fuse them together for a superb photo. However the S5 offers 154% colour gamut, which is more than the 98.4% on the iPhone 5s.
Those two aside, HTC One M8 is equipped with Ultrapixel rear camera which is believed to be only 4MP. However, the shooter is king of snapping in low light.
All in all, the Galaxy S5 is surely a powerful tool when consumers consider productivity. For a fashion statement, it crumbles. Then again, it is still up to the consumers’ preferences on which device to pick.
