India is among the world’s largest tech manufacturer and it boasts the world’s second largest population. This translates to a lot of business opportunities, particularly for the smartphone industry.
Apple has been very aggressive in the Indian smartphone market as it looks to compete with market dominator, Sony. The Us tech giant has recently reintroduced the iPhone 4 for only Rs22,900 and it has been sold out ever since.
Now the iPhone 4S is also coming to an end in the nation as the prices plummet yet again from Rs31,500 to Rs24,000. The delicious part is that no trading in of old devices is required.
The move was taken as a sign of retaliation from Apple after losing its dominance to Japanese brand, Sony. The deals didn’t end with the fourth generation iPhones. In fact, the entry level iPhone 5C also saw its price tag slashed from Rs41,900 to Rs38,000. Then there is the iPhone 5S which saw its price going down from Rs53,000 to Rs47,500.
If there is a time for Indians to get an iPhone it is now. Apple is certainly at its sweetest point in India at the moment.
