The iPad Air might be crowned the 2013 tablet of the year but the Nexus 7 has had a good run since its release. Both devices are developed by Apple and Google respectively and have so much to offer to their users. However, which is the better purchase?
Of course, the iPad Air has a 9.7inch display which is way larger than the 7inch screen on the Nexus 7. However, both slates share the same display technology. The resolution the iPad Air is at 1536 x 2048p whereas the Nexus 7 is at 1200 x 1920. The difference is narrow between the two but the Nexus 7 triumph in terms of the ppi thanks to its much smaller screen.
In terms of storage space, the iPad Air clearly has more variants. This includes the 16GB, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. The Nexus 7 is limited to the 16GB and 32GB.
The processor on the Nexus 7 is much faster than the iPad Air. The tablet from Google runs on a 1.5GHz processor with 2GB RAM, which is faster than the 1.3GHz processor with 1GB RAM on the iPad Air. Nevertheless, there is no competing with the smoothness of the iOS.
Both tablets are evenly matched in terms of cameras. The Nexus 7 and iPad Air are equipped with a 5MP rear camera and a 1.2MP front facing camera.
We have laid it out for you and in it seem that both the iPad Air and Nexus 7 are so close to each other. Perhaps it is down to the OS preference. Would you prefer the iOS or the Android?
