It was said that iOS 8 will take over from iOS 7.1.1 at the WWDC in June and this is when Apple will launch the iPhone 6. There could be devices launched in 4.7 and 5.5 inch displays.
When Apple reveals the iPhone 6 with iOS 8 it could arrive with the following features and functions.
There could be a re-configured version of iTunes with iOS 8. Along with this iTunes Radio might appear as a standalone entity. This would allow it to take on rivals Spotify. Of course Apple has taken over Beats Electronics to the tune of $3 billion and we more than likely will see Beats featured in the iPhone.
Apple Maps will get a makeover and indoor navigation tools for public places are on the horizon.
Apple will want people to forget all about the fiasco when the iPhone 5 came out with Apple Maps, which cost Scott Forstall his job. Apple want to launch a Map application “that would allow users to see visible points of interest nearby using the compass embedded in every iPhone.”
Companies that are under the ownership of Apple could bump up iOS Map into a navigational instrument by using the compass that is installed in the phone.
We have heard leaks about iOS 8 that suggest that we could see a new application by the name of Healthbook. This app would integrate with devices running iOS with a new wearable gadget from Apple that is going to have the name of the iWatch.
Apple could use the sensors of the iPhone to get information such as blood sugar levels along with heart rate from the handset. The main objective of Apple is to offer their users the chance of a healthier lifestyle through use of the phone.
Touch ID was implemented into the iPhone 5S last year and it is said that we will see it in iPads this year. However the upgrade will be not just about better security protocols but also an enhanced mobile computing environment.
It is thought that there will be a fusion of Touch ID features and iOS 8 and the iPhone 6 will offer better hardware and software rendition. This will allow online mobile payments to be smoother.
It is thought that Siri will have improvements with iOS 8 and the digital assistant should be more responsive and more accurate, it will be able to better perform tasks along with voice queries. Wi-Fi connectivity for CarPlay will be initiated in the iOS 8 powered iPhone 6.
Apple is trying to dispense more of the features on the iPhone and iPad without the need to go for those devices, more so during situations that use hands free, such as when out driving.
iOS 8 will come stuffed with lots of new things and it is thought that it will be revealed in August. With it could come a 4.7 inch iPhone 6 along with a larger 5.5 inch device that could come in September?
