Those who own the iPad or iPhone could have come across postings on Facebook that state that an iOS 7 jailbreak release is here and can be used on the device now.
Similar stories have appeared on Google News as blogs parts that have been on local newspapers. One writer said that the iOS 7.1 jailbreak is readily available and successful.
Of course this doesn’t happen to be the first time that we have seen a fake jailbreak enter into the market, but it does happen to be the first for iOS 7.1.
7jailbreak.com are offering the iOS 7.1 remote jailbreak that is said to work on the iPhone 5S to the iPhone 3GS along with the iPads and many iPod Touch devices. It is said to work on iOS 7.0 to iOS 7.1. They claim that you can click on the link and jailbreak the iPhone and don’t have to plug the handset into a computer.
The iOS 7 jailbreak requires that the user has to download a tool and then connect their device to the computer with a cable, however this website seems to be offering something that the jailbreaking community hasn’t seen before, except for the very early days, the option to jailbreak only on the device.
7jailbreak even uses the name of Joshua Hill, a developer who is known as @p0sixninja and who has offered jailnbreaks in the past. The website also quotes him as saying “This will go down in iOS jailbreaking history!”. However Hill said that he has nothing to do with the jailbreak and that it is all lies.
Anyone who tries to click through and use the iOS 7.1 jailbreak sees a pop up and is then directed to a download before being able to complete the process of jailbreaking. It takes you to the app store to download the app through an affiliate link and of course this is a money maker for the owner of 7jailbreak.
The future remains unknown for the iOS 7.1 jailbreak at the moment. When Apple launched the update last week one member of the Evasi0n team spoke out about them not working on the iOS 7.1 jailbreak. Instead they have turned their focus to the iOS 8 jailbreak.
Anyone who wants to jailbreak their device should avoid making the update to 7.1 as there is no way to go back once you update.
