Apple has launched iOS 7.1 and with it comes many improvements, new features and fixes for owners of the iPhone, iPad and iPod. So in case you missed some features of the new OS here are some you may not want to miss.
Siri isn’t perfect by a long shot but there are some things that you can do to make it more responsive. Siri has been updated a lot in iOS 7.1 and here are some of the improvements.
Siri doesn’t know when you have finished your query, request or command, it misconstrues a pause as the end of the question. This is something that is fixed with iOS 7.1. All you have to do is hold down the Home button and then let go when you have finished telling Siri what you want. When you release it, Siri will then get to work.
One of the things that people moan about is the voice and accent of Siri. Siri does offer various accents but with iOS 7.1 they sound more authentic. If you want to change the voice you can go to settings – general and tap on Siri. You can then choose either female or male.
There is now gesture option which lest you command tasks simply by moving your head to the left or to the right. Just go to setting – general – accessibility and scroll down to physical and motor and then choose switch control and tap on settings for switches and add new switch.
Owners who don’t like the parallax motion wallpaper can turn it off without removing zoom transitions when opening and closing an app. Just go to Reduce Motion and make sure that it is toggled to off and then press Set.
When the camera is closed this causes the device to disable HDR constantly. This is fixed with iOS 7.1 as Apple have included a new HDR Auto setting with the iPhone 5S and this monitors the light conditions and will automatically enable or disable HDR. Just open the camera app and then tap on HDR on or HDR off and choose HDR Auto.
iOS 7.1 is superb for accessibility option and users can now alter the contrast of the display. Just go to settings – general – accessibility and tap increase contrast.

Owners can choose to reduce the amount of transparency, reduce the white point and darken the colours.
