The latest Apple iOS 8 came out with plenty of new features and functions and among them is the improved iMessage. Apple has given the exclusive messenger application that much needed upgrade that makes it more sophisticated than third party apps like Whatsapp. Of course, not many are aware of the great offerings on the iMessage which has led us to share the 5 functions on the feature.
1. Snap & Send
The iMessage comes with a camera icon for users to quick snap a picture or video before directly sending it to a friend. Of course, users are required to long-tap the camera symbol.
2. Faster Photo Sending
The previous iMessage version takes a lot of effort to send an image from the gallery. On the improved version, all users have to do is tap on the camera icon.
3. Instant Audio Message
Like how it is on Whatsapp, users can simply tap on the microphone icon next to the text box and start chatting before sending the audio clip over to the recipient.
4. Share Location
This new function can save users the trouble of telling directions. Locations can be shared by taping on ‘Details’ when on a conversation window. There, users can select from ‘Share My Location’ and ‘Share My Current Location’. Choosing the latter will pinpoint the exact location of the user while picking the former will continuously update the location of the user to the recipient. Also, ‘Share My Location’ can be timed.
5. Mute Notifications
If users don’t wish to get notifications from a particular conversation, they can simply go to ‘Details’ and toggle the ‘Do Not Disturb’ option.
