Artist X-Tomi has provided us with another rendering of his and amazed us again. The rendering this time round is a Volkswagan Passat with a bit of GTI. The rendering alows us to see what it would look like if Volkswagen decided to give the Volkswagen Passat the GTI badge.
There are quite a few similarities between the two models. Tthe cars both use come with a DSG gearbox and a six speed manual transmission, both use the MQB platform and there are even some similarities when it comes to the inside of the vehicles.
Despite all this, we don’t believe that Volkswagen will actually develop the vehicle at the Passat’s target group in mainly businessmen who tend to be more keen on cars with a sportier appearance. Other automakers have also tried to create one and not succeeded, such as the Ford Mondeo ST and the Mazda 6 MPS.
Even so, X-Tomi has managed to provide us with a stunning design together with its GTI alloya and the red accents on the front of the vehicle.
The Passat GTI may not ever be developed, however the Passat itself is also a reasonable speedy vehicle thanks to its 2.0 liter twin turbo engine. At some point in the future we will be seeing the use of a 2.0 TSI as well.
