Hyundai will be issuing a new recall to recall back the Hyundai Elantra after it was reported that the electronic stability control on the Hyundai Elantra might malfunction.
It was reported that the yaw sensor in the electronic stability control might malfunction. If that happens, the system might cut power to the engine, or affect the application of brakes. It was also added that the faulty sensor can cause the ESC indicator light to illuminate.
A total of 155,000 units of the Hyundai Elantra made from the 29th of October 2010 until the 25th October 2011 will be affected by the recall. Those affected will be informed. Hyundai also added that no reports of injuries and death caused by the issue have been reported.
Hyundai will check the ESC Sensors. If the problem is detected, Hyundai will work to update the ESC calibration for free. Hyundai will start informing owners of the recall starting from the 29th of February 2016.
