We have seen HTC launching the Volantis tablet and it is something extraordinary. This is not because of its technical superiority or sharp display but instead, due to it being the base model for the upcoming Google Nexus 9.
That’s right. Google is producing the Nexus 9 as the sole successor to the legendary Nexus 10, not the highly anticipated Nexus 10 2.
When looking at the Nexus 9, it has a design that looks like a crossover between the Nexus 7 and the Apple iPad Mini. In fact, the tablet looks like an oversized Nexus 5. There is the Nexus name engraved at the rear casing of the device and adjacent to its top is an 8MP rear camera.
Over at the front, the tablet sports an 8.9” glass screen with 281ppi and comes with a rather thick bezel. This contradicts to the many rumours which hint on thinner bezels on future Nexus device. Nevertheless, the Nexus 9 is certainly going to be something special as it will be built with aluminium.
Under the casing, the Nexus 9 is powered by the NVIDIA Logan 64 bit processor with either 16GB or 32GB internal storage, stereo speakers on the front of the device and the front also has a 3MP camera.
