The HTC One M8 was released back in March 2014 which means it has already been around for more than 2 years and what that usually means is that smartphone manufacturers will stop offering them the latest operating system.
While HTC has yet to confirm that the HTC One M8 will be left out of the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat, it seems clear that the One M8 will not be a part of it. HTC have already announced that the HTC 10, HTC One A9 and the HTC One M9 will all be getting the Android 7.0 Nougat but the HTC One M8 was never mentioned.
Of course, that does not mean that it is the end of the device as there will most likely be customs ROM available but since it won’t be getting any more upgrade officially, maybe it is time to upgrade but where do you go after the HTC One M8?
It is believed that the new Android 7.0 Nougat will be released this September and we should see smartphone manufacturers like HTC rolling out the updates to the unlock version soon after.
