The Verizon KitKat 4.4 update for the HTC Droid DNA came with some delays and the launch date of end of March came and went and was missed.
Now all the attention has been on the HTC One M8, however those with the Droid DNA have had some news. The product manager of HTC told owners through Twitter that the KitKat 4.4 update heading to the Droid DNA will get approval and is going to be released at some point in the second week of April.
The update should be here before the end of Q1, but HTC missed the March deadline. If the Twitter statement is to be believed then the update will arrive soon.
On the update site of HTV they said that the Droid DNA has moved on from development stage to certification, meaning that they are getting ready for a new update.
HTC now has the HTC One and HTC One M8 updates out of the way and so they will be able to focus on the Droid DNA.
If they are to meet the target launch of April this should mean that KitKat 4.4 should arrive before 14 April.
At the moment those with the Droid DNA have to remain with Jelly Bean 4.2, they will then move to KitKat 4.4 and have Sense 5.5. This isn’t the latest version of course as we are on Sense UI 6.0. This arrived last week on the HTC One M8. Owners should not worry as they should get this update later.
