Now that we have heard about the HTC One M8 it is time for attention to be turned to handset of the future. If you know all about the line-up of HTC then you will know that they company launch two flagship devices in a year. This year they have launched the HTC One M8 and nothing else yet. So we are expecting them to announce a sequel to the Butterfly. HTC may also consider going with a One Max to maintain interest in the phablet market.
We did hear previously that the follow up to the Butterfly is in the works and it showed up in the database on AnTuTu. This revealed some very interesting changes when it comes to specs.
The device listed in the database has the name of OPAJ3 and the device is thought to be the next handset in the Butterfly series of devices.
The handset has the Snapdragon 801 MSM8974 AB processor; this has been clocked at 2.3GHz. It has the Adreno 330 graphics chip along with 2GB of RAM. It offers 16GB of storage internally along with a display of 1080 x 1920 and it has KitKat 4.4.2.
What is interesting about the device is the camera setup, at least for HTC. The device offers a 13MP camera on the back and a 5MP front facing.
So if this is the next Butterfly handset it is looking as though HTC are not going with the UltraPixel concept. The reason for this could be that Japan, where the Butterfly is aimed at, put a much greater emphasis on megapixels.
So a new HTC flagship handset is on its way, whether it is a Butterfly or not, we will have to wait and see.
