Honda will be releasing a new fuel cell, the hydrogen-powered model before the year ends. Called the Honda Clarity, the hydrogen-powered model is believed to offer more range than their Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid sedan.
The Honda Clarity will be coming in with a fuel cell stack that will be delivering about 134hp. The fuel cell stack will be paired with an electric motor which will deliver about 174hp. It has been reported that the powertrain can be compared with a standard 3.5 liter V6 engine.
According to Honda, the Honda Clarity will offer about three times more electric range than the Honda Accord Plug-In Hybrid sedan. While they have not revealed the official retail price for the Honda Clarity yet, they did hint that the hydrogen-powered model will be priced around $60,000.
Honda will start off by leasing the Honda Clarity before moving on to retail.
