HL Fans May Not Need To Wait For Half Life 3 For Some Entertainment

It is a mystery on the status of Half Life 3. Fans of this massive franchise have been kept waiting for a decade and there has yet to be any sign of the game being developed. In spite of that, fans need not feel down as both Chariotdrive and Infectious Designer are producing a live-action film based on the game.

This upcoming independent film will be called “The Freeman Chronicles” and produced under multiple genres which include action, thriller and horror elements. The protagonist will definitely be none other than Gordon Freeman.

It was promoted on Kickstarter by the team of producers and they are calling for the fans to show their support by funding the project. Fans can donate as little as a dollar on their website. In addition to that, both Chariotdrive and Infectious Designer won’t be making a profit. The money will be utilized for production purposes which include video-editing, effects, props and talent.

At the moment, the donation box has accumulated almost $20,000. This has surpassed the $12,000 target the filmmakers have set. Of course, the more the funds are, the higher the quality of this project. With 15 days left in this fundraiser, Chariotdrive aims to achieve $25,000 to call in CGI experts, Vortigaunts. Those who can’t share a cent can still support this project by spreading the word on their social media accounts.

Some fans are worried that game developer, Valve, might intervene the filmmakers. However, that seems unlikely as Valve is a strong supporter for independent projects. Besides, it is their fault for delaying Half Life 3.

Chariotdrive has been making a name for themselves by making high-quality live action films based on video games. If there is something that the Half Life community could do is to extend their support for this project.
