The database used by Valve to track bugs had been briefly exposed recently. The database was called Jira database. The incident had leaked information about the development of the next Half Life game.
The recent exposure of the Jira database had given the public a peek of Valve’s management roster. There was a list marked as Half Life 3 that consists of 46 members and another one marked as Half Life 3 Core which consists of 10 members. Many of the members listed in the Half Life 3 and Half Life 3 Core development teams had worked on the Half Life 2 game. This incident had happened exactly one day after Valve submitted Half Life 3 for trademark and a week after they announced their plan to launch a new gaming console.
The creator of Half Life 2 mod Minerva, Adam Foster was also listed. Apart from Foster, Portal and Left 4 Dead co-writer Erik Wolpaw, level designer John Guthrie, Jean Rochefort, Karl Whinnie, Sergiy Migdalskiy, Michael Coupland, writer Marc Laidlaw and Ken Banks were also listed. Sound designer and musician Kelly Bailey can also be seen as part of the Half Life 3 development team along with David Speyrer, a supervisor on Half-Life 2; and Half-Life series veterans, Jeff Lane and Jim Hughes.
Other than the programmers involved in the Half Life 3 development, we still don’t have any information about the game and how far is the progress the developer had made with the game. Fans still have to do a lot of waiting before the Valve finally announces the Half Life 3.
