In detail, one Portal fan was playing an ARG title when he noticed an Easter egg depicting Portal 2. The lad then came up with a conspiracy theory on it and it has forced Valve to admit that Portal 2 is in production.
The manner Portal 2 got announced has somehow inspired the Half Life community and led them to start flooding forums with their conspiracy theories on Half Life 3. The Half Life fans are hoping for one theory to be spot on, thus, forcing Valve to confirm on Half Life 3.
For the fans, they have got nothing to lose. After all, they have already gone through a decade long wait and there is still no word from Valve on Half Life 3. The idea might sound ridiculous but Half Life fans remain hopeful on it.
