Swedish online retailer, 499KR, became the centre of a buzz yesterday when it updated its store inventory with Half Life 3. The ad came with a cited release date of December this year and it instantly captured the attention of Half Life fans worldwide.
Well, the fans should just ignore the website as the cited release date is unlikely to come true. For starters, this is because the ad is nothing more than a placeholder and it is pending for confirmation by Valve.
In addition to that, it is highly unlikely for an unknown Swedish online retailer to know more about Half Life 3 release date. Unless it is from Amazon, the ad on 499KR should be taken with a grain of salt.
After all, there are numerous occasions where online retailer tapped on the popularity of Half Life 3 to bag more traffic on their website. We won’t be surprised if the ad on 499KR ends up as a hoax.
