Tablets can be said to me a more convenient version of the laptop and notebooks. It is able to connect the user with the world while at the same time, offer them the ability to make calls, watch movies and many more.
Last year, three tablets made it to the top in the 7inch market. They are the Kindle Fire HDX from Amazon, Google Nexus 7 and iPad Mini 2.
In terms of display, both the Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX have a 7inch screen that offers the same 1920 x 1200 pixels and 323ppi. The iPad Mini 2 has a much larger 7.9 inch screen and with came a higher resolution which is at 2048 x 1536p at 324ppi.
The camera on both the Nexus 7 and the iPad Mini 2 are evenly match as they are equipped with a 5MP rear camera that is capable of recording videos at 1080p. The Kindle Fire HDX is only equipped with a 1.3MP camera, capable of recording videos at 720p.
Finally is the processor. The Apple iPad Mini 2 is running on a A7 dual core processor clocked at 1.3GHz with 1GB RAM. There is also the PowerVR G6430 GPU. The Nexus on the other hand runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro clocked at 1.5GHz with 2GB RAM and Adreno 320GPU. Then there is the Kindle Fire HDX which is operating on a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.2GHz and comes with the 2GB RAM and Adreno 330 GPU.
Performance-wise, the iPad Mini 2 and the Kindle Fire HDX are certainly to take on the user’s daily task. However, there is the price factor which puts the Nexus 7 a definite challenger. Of course, the iPad Mini 2 is something way more different and with the iOS, there is no denying its powerful status.
As such, it is down to the users’ preference on which phone fits best for them. All three devices have their strengths and weaknesses. If the function fits the bill, then it is the slate for you.
