Last November, Google launched the all new Nexus 6 and the smartphone came out with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The OS is said to improve on the performance of every Android-operated smartphone, particular with the battery life.
Well, this is evident as most flagship devices that are already running on the Android 5.0 Lollipop are now reporting on a longer duration of usage. This is except for Google’s older deice, the Nexus 5.
Apparently, every great thing from the Lollipop does out translate well for the Nexus 5. Upon getting the Lollipop update, the Nexus 5’s battery actually drains faster. In other words, battery life has gone from bad to worse for the Nexus 5 and the device is fast losing its appeal as a result.
This was further confirmed earlier today when a battery benchmark test shared the Nexus 5 results online. The smartphone was made to participate in a video playback test and it only managed about 38 hours.
This is really disappointing, considering the fact that the Nexus 5 has a decent battery life to offer to its user. In the results list, the Samsung Galaxy S5 sits at first place with 83hours of video playback while the Nexus 5 sits on the last place, behind the HTC One and the KitKat-powered Nexus 5.
