We have heard rumours that Lollipop could come out in July alongside the next Nexus handset, which would be the Nexus 8. It is thought that Google will launch the OS at the I/O which will take place in June.
However an employee at Google from Dublin said that the Nexus 8 may not be revealed at the event. He said that Google could hold a separate event and launch the Nexus 8. It is still thought that Lollipop 4.5 will be announced at the I/O.
The source said that the new OS would come with a flatter design and it was going to be a total rethink version.
There were leaked images posted from several sources showing that the Android icons will have the standard look to them.
It is thought that the OS will come with a revamped UI and that it will “unify the experience that users have in Android, Chrome as well as in its Search platform on the Android-powered devices.”
When it comes to the Nexus 8 it was said that the 8 inch display handset would take over from the Nexus 7 as being the main competitor of the iPad Mini with the retina display. It is also thought that Google have been working alongside HTC to make the Nexus 8.
The Nexus 8 has been rumoured to be the first Android handset to come with Android 4.5 Lollipop. It has been said that it could have the 64 bit processor along with the Intel Moorefield CPU.
