Google I/O 2014: Nexus 10 2, Universal App Backup, Android 5.0 & Other Expectations

The Google I/O is coming upon us fast and many people cannot wait to see what it will bring with it. This has led to many discussions on forums about what people want Google to show off.

It seems than better integration of Google Voice and Hangouts is something that is wanted. SMS across all platforms that Apple showed off with iMessage is popular.

There should be more design guidelines for app developers and they need to be more consistent. It was also pointed out the HOLO does look out dated. API integration should be included for Google Now as it does happen to be more useful than Siri.

Google should also take some cues from the Mod community it was said and integrate popular features into the stock Android. It would be nice to see quick settings that can be edited, along with quick response for texting and chatting. Profiles should also be included so you can change them fast when you are at home or you are going out for instance.

Users should be able to choose between a light and dark interface too and there should be a dynamic status bar colour.
