In case you do not know, some Google Pixel might not come with an unlockable bootloader which means you won’t be able to root the new Pixel and Pixel XL devices so you will need to decide if you are going to root it or not before getting it.
If you are planning to get the Pixel and Pixel XL from Verizon, bear in mind that you will not be able to root the device as it will not be coming with an unlockable bootloader.
However, you will be able to root the new Pixel devices if you get the device directly from Google. Google officially announce that the Pixel devices bought from their Google Store will ship with an unlockable bootloader.
While Google seems to be allowing their users to root their device, those who root the device will still be missing out on the OTA updates.
