There has been a massive anticipation for the Nexus 10 2 slate which was first believed to debut mid-last year. We are well into 2014 now and there is still no sign of this slate from Google.
Perhaps it is time for fans and consumers to shift their attention to the future Google Nexus 8. This upcoming tablet is rumoured to be escaping the typical patterns of all the other Android operated devices.
Instead of the usual Snapdragon processor, it seems that the Nexus 8 is jumping to a 64-bit processor developed by Intel Moorefield. The Nexus 8 is expected to debut in July which coincides with the shipping of this future processor.
The Intel Moorefield was first introduced recently during the MWC2014 and it is built on quad-core Atom processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It will have LTE support and plenty of other features and possibilities.
At the moment, most devices are running on the x86 processors which have some setbacks of its own. Intel revealed that its processors will be able to support up to 95% of all Android apps and will also fix the issue with 3D applications. We will know more about this on Google I/O 2014.
