Ford have made the decision that Microsoft have now run out of time and that from now on they will rely on Blackberry to produce its Sync 3. What this means is that the Blackberry QNX will be used to run Sync 3 from now on. It is not all over for Microsoft though as they will still be used for Sync 3’s updates.
Although Blackberry will be making future updates, they will be held at Microsoft’s Azure Cloud servers and then be sent over to the Sync 3 system. In addition to that, Microsoft were the ones allowing Sync 3 to use Wi-Fi connectivity.
Sync 3 are currently in its last stages of production and is due to be released next year. The 2016 Lincoln and Ford cars will be debuting the new infotainment system and it will be used to completely replace the MyFord Touch system.
