Even after 7 years of wait, Bethesda has yet to announce anything on Fallout 4 but the fans are still hopeful that the game will get produced eventually. With the Xbox One and PS4 already released, there is no doubt that Fallout 4 will be making its debut on the latest gaming consoles.
Even so, Fallout 4 won’t be looking to appear with high-end graphics. This seems likely as Bethesda is not expected to produce a new game engine for Fallout 4 and instead, will rely on Skyrim’s game engine.
Back in Fallout 3, the old title was built on Elder Scrolls Oblivion game engine and the pattern will look to follow with Fallout 4. Besides, producing a new game engine will require a big expenditure and years of development. Surely, that is something Bethesda is not will to commit to yet.
With Fallout 4 running on Skyrim’s game engine, it will make the sequel much easier to produce and also cheaper for Bethesda. Skyrim does look great on the older-gen consoles but if played on the Xbox One and PS4, it will look decent at best. Fans should expect the same for Fallout 4.
