It has been said that the hold up with the untethered jailbreak could be down to the jailbreakers wanting to wait for the release of the new iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2. @Planetbeing, one of the Evad3rs team members talked about how important the release of the iPad will be to developers.
“Even if we manage to make everything work, the time for a release must be chosen carefully,” evad3r @pimskeks said on Twitter on Oct 4. This was just one of the many Tweets between team members about how the jailbreak is coming along.
@pod2g told idesigntimes.com that the iOS hackers “usually think about that when we have something ready.”
“It’s too early to worry about actual release date issues yet since we have no idea what kind of implementation challenges we might run into that might significantly skew the schedule,” @planetbeing explained to idesigntimes.com.
He went on to say that there wasn’t any correct way when it came to revealing the jailbreak. He said:
“(For a while), people assumed there was never going to be a jailbreak and all the hackers were lying in a pile defeated somewhere. Now I’ve said something positive, and people are assuming it’ll be out in a few days.”
This does at least give an idea as to why @pimskeks said on Twitter he didn’t think we would see the jailbreak any time soon. Another member @pod2g also made it clear as he said “Don’t expect a jailbreak next week people.”
Pod2g has treat himself to a brand new iPhone 5S, however he didn’t say if he would be using the device to test the untethered jailbreak out.
One of the main issues will come about when testing the jailbreak on the new devices, such as the Apple iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5S.
@Pimskeks and @Pod2g both attended a hackers conference recently, but there is no doubt that they made it back in time to meet up with the rest of the team for the release of the new devices from Apple on 22nd October.
Fans of iOS have been waiting for the jailbreak to arrive and they are keeping their fingers crossed that it won’t be much longer now that the new devices from Apple are here. @Planetbeing did say it was “possible to release a jailbreak eventually.”
I for one can’t wait to get break free my iPhone from the clutches of Apple, what about you?
