Apple claimed that that iOS 7.1 has been heavily secured and there are many doubts about it being created. However doubts were soon expelled as a jailbreak for iOS 7.1 has been released. While this sounds like good news, there is a downside to it and this is that not all iPhones can be jailbroken with it.
The only handset that can be jailbroken running iOS 7.1 is the fourth gen iPhone, which means the iPhone 4S and 4. This is down to a bootrom exploit that is found on the A4 processor. It also means that it is much easier to jailbreak the iPhone 4.
Alphawired seems to agree to this on a post recently and the website then went further and assumed that it won’t be long until the iPhone 5S, 5C and 5 will be jailbroken too, with iOS 7.1.
Being able to get past the security features found on the A5, A6 and A7 processor is going to be a challenge for the hackers and it is going to take a long time to develop. There has been talk that the jailbreakers could skip over iOS 7.1 and wait for Apple to launch iOS 8.
Even so owners of the 5th gen iPhone are hoping that this will not be the case and that the jailbreak will be released. At the moment anyone who wants to keep the jailbreak should avoid updating to iOS 7.1.
