Tutorials are a core part of a game. Almost every game has a tutorial at the start of it and once a gamer has gone through the tutorial, there is no need to redo it again. The upcoming Elder Scrolls Online has been under a lot of heat on the subject.
Players who tried out the Beta release discovered that they can’t skip the tutorial having already played them with another character. This appears to be the first major annoying aspect of The Elder Scrolls Online.
However, things have finally changed for the better. The game developer, Zenimax Online Studios, revealed that players are no longer obliged to go through the tutorial.
It appears that players can now bypass the tutorial by simply talking to an NPC. Engaging that NPC will “complete all quests”. Of course this tweak isn’t alone.
Other changes and additions to the Elder Scrolls Online Beta includes:
1. Collision detection with NPCs.
2. Skipping Starter Islands.
3. Increase difficulty for mobs.
4. Buff and Nerfs to class abilities.
5. Fixes for abilities which disobeys the line of sight rule.
Aside from the tutorial hiccups, the Elder Scrolls Online definitely looks promising and is bound to be the biggest MMO when it gets released.
