Comparing the controllers to its predecessor, the Dual Shock 4 actually has a shorter battery life. This is probably due to it having a powerful yet unnecessary light stick on it. The light bar not only consumes a lot of juice but it destroys the gaming experience due to the light rays reflect of the television screens.
While that issue is yet to be addressed by Sony, the battery life can actually be efficient. Gamers on the PS4 can switch off the controllers when downloading a game or waiting for a loading to complete.
This can easily be done by pressing the PS symbol button for 10seconds. Doing so will definitely extend the life of the battery as well as the controllers.
