Gamers do appreciate the fact that the internet has made it easier for them to play a game with other players from across the globe easily. Even so, there is still a lot of love for basic LAN gaming as gamers want to enjoy a fun time with their friends.
In Dota 2 however, there is a problem with the LAN feature. Since the game can only be played via Steam, an active internet connection is still necessary to setup a LAN game. It is unsure what Valve is smoking at their headquarters but the players are not pleased with it.
It is simply not logical at all to play LAN with an internet. LAN is an old-school technology to connect gamers through a single centralized port. Despite that fact, Valve seems to be having difficulties in getting the feature to work on Steam.
This is the obvious case since it is taking Valve too long to allow a simple offline LAN gameplay for Dota 2. Perhaps, Valve has no intention of upgrading the feature at all.
