Any vehicle that offers more than 400hp has always been poor in offering great fuel economy. However, this isn’t the case for the 707hp Dodge Challenger SRT HellCat.
This sport car is due for a release next year and it will be powered by a 6.2L supercharged HEMI® Hellcat V-8. The powerful mill is mated to an 8-speed TorqueFlite transmission that is developed by Chysler.
Dodge had just put the Challenger on an economy test with EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and it did wonderfully well. The all-American sports car managed to achieve 22mpg. It gets more exciting as the Challenger has a starting price of $59,995. For a sports car, the Challenger is considered to be affordable as well.
This is partly owed to the gearbox, which comes with 7.03 ratio speed. Furthermore, the gearbox from Chrysler has an engine-box capacity that is 30% greater than any other 8-speed transmission in the market.
The Dodge Challenger is often compared to the Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, Aston Martin Vanquish and the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG GT. It is significantly cheaper, more efficient and more powerful than the trio.
